point pretty much determines splicing pattern. The consesus sequence may be
important for the binding of splicesome RNA.And the distance is just at an
appropriate distance from the splicing site to be able to get cleaved. I
learned it long ago from the PhD course, memory is blurred and may be
inaccurate... |

something to do with defining the splicing context.....
