Qualifications:
-MSc, PhD or BSc (with significant experience) in bioinformatics, computer
science/engineering, theoretical/computational biology, or molecular biology
(with programming skills)
-In-depth knowledge of publically available genomic and biological resources
-Programming experience and web development skills in a variety of languages
/platforms (JAVA, Java Beans, netBeans, Javascript, JQuery, Tomcat, PERL,
BIOPERL, node.js, Angular, C#, C++, Python, Jython, SQL, R, XML, etc)
-Database programming and maintenance, both sql and nosql types
-Experience with, and administration of, UNIX, LINUX, Windows, and OSX
machines
-Cluster maintenance, administration, and programming
-Knowledge of statistics and statistical programming languages (R, SAS, etc)
-Experience with microarray data analysis in programs such as R or
GeneSpring
-Experience in the analysis of high throughput sequencing data
-Basic bioinformatics skills such as BLAST, BLAT, sequence annotation,
transcription factor binding site predictions, gene ontology, integration of
biological databases, sequence assembly, SNP finding, domain prediction,
multiple sequence alignment etc
-Knowledge of molecular biology, genetics, and human biology as it pertains
to a range of cancer pathologies
-A proven track record with real-world software applications, web sites, and
/or publications in scientific journals

Minimum qualifications
BS degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study or
equivalent practical experience.
Software development experience in one or more general purpose programming
languages.
Experience working with two or more from the following: web application
development, Unix/Linux environments, mobile application development,
distributed and parallel systems, machine learning, information retrieval,
natural language processing, networking, developing large software systems,
and/or security software development.
Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English.
Preferred qualifications
Master’s, PhD degree, further education or experience in engineering,
computer science or other technical related field.
Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages including
but not limited to: Java, C/C++, C#, Objective C, Python, JavaScript, or Go.
Interest and ability to learn other coding languages as needed.
