was not able to make that grand slam and it is a 17MP swing. Anyway ,

1. west had 14 cards :))
2. Assume west had 4630 hand;
A, K take first two rounds of trump, lead a small Club to ruff;
take the rest trumps if any; take H Q, C AKQJ,D A,H AK.
if no one ruff first round of H & C, you make the grand slam.
Otherwise... :(

发帖数: 31 | 3 Sorry , West should have only 4 spades instead of 5, her hand was 4630.
You are right, it is pretty easy for her to make 7 after a spade lead, just
ruff a small club whenever she can. Unless Club break something like 8-0 and
she can take 13 tricks home easily. That is why I was pretty mad at her for
not making 7.
Anyway, when we compared the scores, I said -50 and was shocked when our
teamates say +100. Cuz the west in the other table is a very good player. I
asked them what happened, out teamma

only when you cash HA,HK and have not been ruffed,you can make 7S.
I don't see any other way. So, what's the split?

The one sat behind declarer has 4 trumps and 2 hearts,
Maybe this is still an interesting question even if it is
Double Dummy.

At this moment, N has HQ and CQ,CJ,CX, DX;
S has HA,HK,HX,HX,HX. E is squeezed. (he/she can not
hold both 3C and 3H).
The grand slam will be made.

I was thinking of another line though.
1.Take the first trick with Ace of Diamond.
2.Cross the dummy with Queen of hearts
3.Play AK of Clubs in the dummy and pitch 2 diamonds in the hand.
4.Ruff a diamond back
5.Cash Ace of Heart pitch the last diamond in the dummy.
6.Cash King of Heart try to pitch the small clubs in the dummy.
a. If west does not ruff, you are home, just clear trump, dummy is up
b. If west ruff, you overruff in the dummy,
