It is not far, budy. Most tourments scheduled in weekend. no
traffic.
You can enjoy the on-site competition which you can not have
in those Online bridge, and play against those real
expertised opponoents. Sometimes you may meet Sectional
Champion, even US champion. Maybe someday you get US
champion finally. Great fun, come on down ...

Anyway, I can play against some of the top players in okbridge,
like Benito Garozzo, Soloway...
My biggest problem is I don't have a strong partner in real life,
sigh.

used one? r u still student in school?
My current problem is also without a strong partner here. It
is tough to find good partner here in states. I used to
have one who played with me for 7 years in China. At that
time, We have a strong team of 5 members regularly playing
against several other teams and tourments in college for 4
years. Then, my partner succed in persuading me to attend a
graduate school together with him in aother city i

My partner in China is still playing for Beijing Junior team.
If I stayed in China, I may have chance to attend national junior
team, now here, I just play on line for fun. Anyway, if you want to
enjoy good competition, okbridge is a much better choice.
You can find some really strong players there, much better
than playing in local club.

There are quite a few decent Chinese players in bay area.
I'm sure you can meet some if you go to a regional or
sometime sectionals (the most recent nearby regional is the
Sacramento regional, if I'm not mistaken). In fact if you
follow ACBL news, then you probably would have known that
some chinese players have placed high in prestigious
national events lately.
I'm not sure club, unit or League games would be too
exciting, though. Top players will not play in clubs or even
sectionals.
