needed in case declarer has 4522 shape with CQ but without DK.
If C8 is encouraging, I will simply continue CA. |

Otherwise, simply continue C and let declarer play it. That is especially
the case at the table. But since I am not at the table, so I guess I am
wrong :)

set up a suit to pitch some losers (and which suit would it be)? On the
other hand, even if declarer has second club, can club loser disappear?

Like you said, it fails when declarer holds Kxxx/AQJxx/KJx/x, or Axxx/AQJxx/
KJx/x
D works with the cough, though, when declarer holds:
AQJ/AQJxxx/xx/Qx,
or,
KJ9x/AQJxxx/xx/x
bid.
