Chicago Business School Gets Huge Gift

The University of Chicago's business school will get a $300 million boost to
its endowment -- and a new name -- from David Booth, an investor who has
tried to avoid the limelight until now.

academia wasn't for him after all. "He was smarter than I was and willing to
work harder--how was I ever going to compete with people like him?" he says
. "I thought there must be more like him out there. I didn't realize he was
unique."

想申请finance phd, 他就去问ivo welch, who was a finance phd student at that
time. ivo welch told him that do not apply for finance phd programs because
you are not smart enough,然后他又补了一句"i am not smart enough, either"，
赫赫。。。
