就来到美国东海岸。打工上学。。。想的是在那里生根。。。因为那里纽约吸引我，那
里大西洋吸引我，那里华盛顿吸引我。。。。那里有旖旎的山丘，迂回的公路，灿烂的
红叶，咸腥的海风，肥美的蓝蟹，温和而鲜明的四季。。。我的梦想，我的求学奋斗，
我的孩子孕育都是在那里，在那里。。。它就是我的第二故乡。。。每一步都留下不可
磨灭的记忆。。。而且是和我的孩子共同经历的。。。现在回想，偏偏在那里似乎冥明
冥之中就连上了Chicago!
当年我老公出差开会第一次到了Chicago。整齐的街道，齐天的高楼给了他比纽约更好
的印象。第二次他有一次来这里出差，而我的羊水穿刺结果刚出来。。。我给在UIC开

ordinance, ruling that it is unconstitutional to prohibit licensed gun

打死的华人很少很少？很少有什么恶性的和华人有关的凶杀新闻发生在CHICAGO？
因为芝加哥有一点比较好，泾渭分明。大部分华人不住在CHICAGO市区，即使住在市区
，黑人区和其他区也分得很清楚。
去年，我住的naperville被评为美国最安全的城市第一名（五万人口以上城市）我们很
多年都没有什么抢劫强奸杀人案了。我们town人口近十五万，不算少了。naperville是
chicago华人最多的town。这个TOWN，黑人的比例几乎是美国大点TOWN里最低的。
NAPERVILLE房价不高，学校好，安全。家庭中位收入高。
我们社区，家庭中位收入是十五万，但是平均房价才40多万。所以naperville经常被评
为美国最适合居住的前十位城市。生活压力非常小。
大家说住在Chicago，其实大部分华人人都是住在类似naperville这样的郊区。住在城
里的很少。对我们来说，主要就是个气候的问题，剩下，各方面都不错。

in the country.

人跑。我同
学来纽约,一月份最冷的那几天,到了跟我说,纽约真暖和,chicago简直没法走.我刚特。
1. 湖边漫步。从navy pier到博物馆区,一条长长的沿着湖边的小道,很漂亮的. 远帆,
碧蓝,海
鸥,休闲的行人,难得的闹市中的宁静.呃,central park,还是不够看。lake michigan宽
广的胸
怀....
2. water taxi之类chicago river tour.和纽约不同的是,hudson river绕着manhattan
走,chicago river是在闹市中穿行.所以你可以近距离得看chicago市中心的著名建筑.
当然,只
有夏天才会是种享受。
3. 去navy pier坐帆船。那边有几艘帆船tour.从navy pier开出去,到lake michigan中去
转一转。那边回看chicago的景色还是蛮不错的。（当然new york也有类似的）
4. grand park, fountain这都是传统项目了。大家都晓得的

在Buffalo休息一晚后，沿着I-90向Chicago进发。那里有我亲爱的大学室友accc同学。
进入Chicago前，给车加满了油。事后证明这是明智的决定，大城市的油还是相当的贵
。何况Audi只吃Premium的油。老友相见，免不了彻夜长谈，聊着异国他乡的酸甜苦辣
，和老同学们的八卦事，感觉格外亲切。
Chicago的天气很热，有点闷。来的两天还正赶上大雨。不过这样也别有一番风味。沿
着Chicago Lake岸边散步，手牵着手，分享一口香浓的Hagen Daz冰琪淋，LG突然对我
喊：我会让你幸福。生活就是这样简单而美好。
chicago市中心的John Hancock tower顶层有午餐自助餐，人均20，景色很美，我们的
照片就是在那里拍的,建议第一次来的人去那。法式面包相当不错。
离开Chicago那天，因为修车，我们耽误了行程，当晚没有到达预计的Badland NP，而
是在Luverne的一个路边Motel住了一晚。这个Motel便宜且环境不错，内部整洁干净。
门口有花有草。不过据说有些Motel条件很差的。
