[1] "STEVENSON HIGH要我说就是个传说，这么大的学校怎么可能搞好， 据说只有最好
的前几个学生才能选择想去的大学， 1000多人， 这个比例和东岸根本就没法比。大学
走向不好， 几个高中毕业生给的奖， 比如说西门子数学奖比起别的高中获奖人数也少
。数学竞赛这几年也不行。这个学校还是白人太多， 虽然白人对孩子教育抓得比较严
， 比起移民还是差一些。
STEVEVSON 给学生分了几级， 没进最好的班的孩子大学走向差， 所以家长有意见，
一直想把这个分级制给取消了， 取消以后就会更差。NEW TRIER高中也是搞分级的"

我上次说的59/75交界的20万起的新开发区，新闻还特别列出，90%
已经卖完了。SHYANG说的BENEDICTINE大学边上35万起的那个SFH小区，我估计也差不多
了。那个地址太好了，大学边上，离DOWNTOWN很近，火车站也不远。价格又这么低。算
是物美价廉了。

么结论应该是：Michigan Ave is better than Bloor/Yorkville. However, your can
not conclude that Chicago is better than Toronto. A city covers downtown
and many suburbs. Most people work in downtown and live in suburbs. You are
not one of them. downtown的高档购物区 are mainly for tourists, not for local
residents, unless you are single and like window-shopping. People like you

UIC校区往东两个blocks是著名的Chicago Maxwell Street Market。这个跳蚤市场已有
近一个世纪的历史，是chicago blue的发源地。许多的移民商人在这里创业找寻
American Dream，有早期欧洲移民，犹太人；当今的墨西哥移民。。。许多的美国
native无产阶级在这里谋生而且enjoy life，有小手工艺人，画家，音乐家。。。
人人都可以在市场上摆摊，去市政府办个permit就行了。摊位有固定和临时两种，固定
摊位的vendor大概多是有二十年的历史了。临时摊位vendor每周打电话排队选位。周日
繁星满天时，vendor就开始工作了，上午十点到下午一点是黄金时间，插肩接踵的人流
。下午四点闭市。

去年年底去chicago旅游，开的朋友的车。朋友在国外交流一年，才回来。今天朋友跟
我们说他们收到了3月和4月邮寄来的ticket。是chicago Department of Revenue 邮寄
来的。$50的罚款。我们开车其实一直都很小心。看到ticket上有照片，晚上拍的，基
本上看不出来是什么。反正不管怎么样，50刀我们是肯定要给的，现在问题是因为过去
几个月，又罚了50刀，不知道那个能不能打电话argue回来？有木有人有相似经历呀。
。我们真的是才知道这个ticket，不然也不会拖这么久。。。谢谢啦。。

后的称谓非要搞个颠倒。 目的就是借着 UC狐假虎威啊。

1。chicago 是中部核心要带，一般大公司，各个地区都会有regional office，一般都
设在chicago周围。比如我老公的公司，有南区，西区，东区和中部。然后同一公司一
个级别的工资level都一样，所以在chicago的中区相对工资就会很高。
2。谁说文化不好来者，chicago的世界知名交响乐队（把这个忘了，呵呵）。每个周六
，在 millennium park, 就是那个，大便豆的公园，7-10点，都有露天的交响乐欣赏（
不是CSO），音质很好，我们2个娃居然都很喜欢听，做得纹丝不动地听交响乐http://www.cityofchicago.org/city/en/depts/dca/supp_info/millennium_park.html 免费，估计市政府为了拉动旅游出钱的。第一次去听很竞艳，估计可以和百老汇比比。夏天好多event，各种露天音乐会
最后，我没有去过新西兰和殴打利亚，不知道那里是否可以媲美。最后想了一想，如果
让我选择：如果家庭收入翻一倍，我会考虑去texas，做做石油行业，收入增加50%，我

这里老美有钱人太多了，几百万几千万的豪宅多得是，而且富人区不是一个两个TOWN，
是十几
二十个TOWN。所以，中国过来一些有钱人根本就显不出。
NPAERVILLE这算是工薪阶层居住区了，大部分是30-70万，但是即使这样也有很多几百
万的豪宅。这才是CHICAGO个一个小城。整个METRO CHICAGO豪宅多得是，根本填不满。
随便湖边的那些大楼里就有无数几百万的CONDO。
国内金主应该不会到NAPERVILLE来住。大多数应该买城里的湖景房或是高级CONDO，或
是LAKECOUNTY的那些豪宅，就是到西郊来，也有HINSDALE/OAKBROOK/BURRRIDGE那样的
富人区。
CHICAGO的房市我个人感觉是还没回到2006年高点。
就像LA，大家吹牛说什么解放区，什么圣博盖谷，但是好莱坞那样的富人区有多少华人
？NYC也是，曼哈顿随便一套CONDO就是几百万几千万，有多少中国富豪来都能吃得下。 |

。所以这几年很多大公司把总部回迁到Chicago市区，这样当然牺牲了下州或是郊区的

这次团购从八月份开始，到现在终于结束了，一度接近失败。想想还是写一个总结帖，
给将来要团购的朋友一些参考。如果还要团购的版友，这个月都可以拿到相同的价格，
具体信息最后附上。
我在MI，本来是想跟团了，但是8月份还是迟迟没有chicago团出现，在版上看到
ysp0088也有意团购，于是我们前期quote了一些dealer试试，再后来就成了正式团购。
其实现在看来，还是应该由本地的团员带团，可以直接和dealer面谈，可以省掉很多麻
烦，而且比电话邮件容易获得dealer的注意。
08/11，ysp0088和jennings谈下来了11k off，看起来团购进行得很顺利。大家也觉得
价格可以接受，于是就进入买车的流程。但是接下来jennings的要求有点过分，要求我

chicago到北京是韩亚的票，两个票是分开定的，不是联程票。查了一下AA在terminal
3，而韩亚在terminal 5。那是否意味着我父母需要到chicago以后先出安检取行李，然
后再从terminal 3转到terminal 5，然后取票过安检？如果不出安检的话，换terminal
有transit，但是出了安检怎么换terminal啊？有没有一种方法不用换terminal直接在
terminal 3 check in?
