most reviewers are just procrastinating,
it takes at most 4 hours to thoroughly read a paper,
since the reviewers are supposed to be experts | x*g 发帖数: 68 | 3 I agree with what you said. Once I was assigned 5 papers to review two days
before the review deadline. Other reviewers got much longer review period
(longer than a month), but I only got 2 days because the program chair
happened not be able to finish his reviews in time and had to assign me 5
papers two days before the deadline.
So I had to spend less than 3 hours to review each paper (and although I am
not the expert for 2 papers). Later on, when I saw the comments from all
reviewers, I found

| c******n 发帖数: 4965 | 4 come on, within a two-day period, you can always sqeeze out 4 hours,
if you are that busy, better not serve as reviewers | x*g 发帖数: 68 | 5 it may end up with a student of the reviewer reviewing the paper. You can't
expect a faculty to review not-so-important workshop papers within two days
becasue he is usually very busy has higher priority work to do. At least, I am
sure this won't work for my advisor. :)
ll rely on reviwing papers to make a living?

| j*********t 发帖数: 11 | 6 It has nothing to do with whether it's important or not. Instead, it's about
schedule. Big guys usually have pretty full schedule each day, so if you
want to grab several hours from them, you got to reserve it in advance.
Suddenly giving you a paper and set the deadline as 2 days later, is
nothing but an insult.
