For those who suspect your passport or other IDs severely overestimate your
real age: try to buy a full-size bottle of wine.
I did.
The cashier asked whether I brought any ID with my birthday on.
I didn't
She refused to check it out.
I showed her the wrinkles on the forehead.
She was not convinced.
Bottom line: Forget about the (faux) Coq au vin. I managed to roast chicken
without a single drop of alcohol for the first time. (Tip: use a lot of
orange skin to suppress the smell of meat. I said a lot--not the timid bit
of zest from your grater)
But that was the best chicken meal I have ever had.
