发帖数: 19 | 1 A postdoctoral position is available to work on drug discovery in the
Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry and Milwaukee Institute of Drug
Discovery at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The research will focus
on synthesizing small molecules and studying their biological properties,
including testing anticancer activity both in vitro and in vivo, figuring
out the mechanism of function (such as interactions with DNA, DNA damage,
cell damage, PK and stability study, etc.). The lab has access to DNA
synthesizer, HPLC, UV-Vis, gel electrophoresis, Storm 860, and the equipment
necessary for cell culture and in vivo study. Two Bruker NMR spectrometers,
six mass spectrometry systems, and other big equipments can be shared with
the department and the campus. The position is available until it is filled,
and is expected to be a 12 month appointment initially with possible
extension depending on the funding availability, with a negotiable salary
and other benefits. The candidate is expected to have an earned doctoral
degree in Organic and Bioorganic Chemistry or Medicinal Chemistry, or
related areas. Researchers with strong background and experience on organic
synthesis and Medicinal chemistry are encouraged to apply. The experience
with cell culture, Immunohistochemistry, and Tunnel assay is a plus. The
main responsibilities of the position include conducting assigned research,
the design and evaluation of experiments, developing project reports,
writing proposals, and preparing refereed journal manuscripts. Good English
