Position Summary – Dedicated aide to student who is blind and non-English
speaking. She requires adult supervision to transition throughout the
classroom and school building to monitor for safety. Adult supervision is
also required for safety because of student’s inability to understand
directives in English and no experience in a school setting. She also
requires hand-over-hand assistance with academic and daily living
manipulative.
Translation into native language, which is Mandarin, is required for
explanation of concepts and explanation of English words. She also needs
translation in Mandarin of descriptions of actions, pictures, demonstrations
and presentations and assistance with communicating needs to the teacher.
Qualifications: 60 hours of college credit or an associate’s degree and
speaks Mandarin.
