ICE WARS: Five Carvers...Five Blocks...Five Hours!
Pro Ice Carvers Face Off in a heated battle for prizes and prestige!
Proving that snow and ice can actually be fun, the activities featured in
our 39th Annual Winterfest will provide hours of outdoor and indoor
enjoyment.
Bill Covitz
Renowned ice carver and former national champion Bill Covitz returns to our
event, testing his carving and artistic skills against other ice carving
superstars Richard Daly from Long Island,Jeff Day from New Hampshire, and
two other talented and carvers familiar to Connecticut ice carving fans,
Jeff Scarpa and Gary Costa.
Winterfest visitors will enjoy a role in deciding the winner by voting for
their favorite ice sculpture as the carvers compete against the clock and
each other for cash prizes.
Additional activities of the day include mushing demonstrations by the
Connecticut Valley Siberian Husky Club, free food sampling in the Apple
Barrel, Fruit-tree Pruming demonstrations in the orchard, free raffles, and
horsedrawn wagon rides with Foxglove Farm.
Food offerings include Breakfast in the Eatery, Clam Chowder, Chili, Hot
Apple Crisp, hamburgers, hotdogs, and more, from the Outdoor Grill.

Apple Barrel Breakfast!
Sat/Sun, 8am-11am
Breakfast Sandwiches and Omelets are available at the Outdoor Grill.
Free Food Samples in the Apple Barrel -- all you can eat!

Enjoy tastings of your favorite Apple Barrel treats and beverages! Meet our

Ice Wars!
Sat/Sun; 10am - 3pm
Watch as five professional ice carvers compete against the clock and each
other, transforming 25,000 pounds of ice into a Winter Circus theme "Under
the Big Top" at the Apple Barrel tent. Winner is decided by popular vote!
Outdoor Grill Open!
Sat/Sat; 12 noon-4pm
Enjoy our famous apple-cider hotdogs, hamburgers, pulled pork, clam chowder,
chili, hot apple crisp, hot spiced cider, sugar-on-snow, and much more!
Fruit Tree Pruning Demonstration
Learn from our experts!
Sat/Sun, 10am - 12noon
Employing correct pruning techniques has a direct impact upon the health and
productivity of fruit trees.
In this two hour workshop, our experienced orchardists will teach you about
the importance of pruning, demonstrating their techniques on apple trees in
our orchard. Hand-out materials are available.
The demonstration is free of charge, however registration is required.

Horse Drawn Wagon Rides with Foxglove Farm!
Sat/Sun, 11am-3pm
Great fun for the whole family! If we have adequate snow cover, horsedrawn
sleigh rides will be available during the event! |

w，100w的节能灯的pack都只要1块不到。是康州的一个推广新能源的基金，UI，还有一
家什么公司合作给的instant rebate。家里灯比较多的可以买回来囤积起来慢慢用。每
家limit 20个pack。我只整了4，5个pack，太多了用不了，呵呵。

发帖数: 1263 | 8 回来了，不错，人很多，小孩子占了人口的差不多一半。冰雕不错，我以前从来没看过
冰雕，所以也不知道水平如何，反正我看着是很好了，昨天暖和，冰雕都开始化了，但
是那些人还是雕的兢兢业业。这个就是最大的看点了。还有很多西伯利亚husky一字排
开被铁链邦着，都很乖，见了陌生人也不叫唤，随便摸，接吻什么的都来者不拒，只要
你是善意的，用一个流行的词来形容就是非诚勿扰。我就注意到这么多。

绕不成一个整圈，最后人狗叫了半天劲，有一只狗还是不肯掉头，其他的屈服了，于是
由一个人牵着一只狗，另几只狗拉着雪橇回来了，太逗了。难怪有人说“狗脾气”。
