发帖数: 2284 | 1 今天照旧去了LBS的一个group ride。卸车时还阳光灿烂，只是天边有一片乌云漂过来
。刚刚骑出去，还没上主路，只听平地两声惊雷，回头一看，三十几号人不见了一小
半。又走了一mile，妖风四起，雨点开始砸下来，只见前面的人们也不打信号，就
那么往路右边的shopping center一拐，又消失了一大半。我前天专门睡足了觉，又是
做按摩又是吃药片准备了半天，实在不甘心就这么退出，于是裹着剩下的十个人硬着头
皮前进。雨不是洒下来，好像天上打翻了一个水桶似的泼下来，墨镜被水打湿，什么
也看不见。最糟糕的是在pace line里面，前面车轮带起的水，正正好洒在我的脸上，
搞得我每呼吸一次，就要呸地吐一口。可是还是有不少的水灌进肚子里。当时我想- 这下可不用担心dehydrated乐。回家刷了牙，嘴里还有些沥青的味道。
唯一比较高兴的是雨后第一次看到了从地面到地面的180度的全彩虹。 |

发帖数: 2284 | 4 大概半小时后雨过天晴，前面的鸟人似乎为了弥补雨中的速度损失，把后半程的速度搞
得非常高- 本来网站上写的19.1mph，这些人愣是21+mph地跑。我几乎立即被drop，好
在有一个很面善的老头让我一直pace他跑了四五个miles。不知为何，老头突然萎掉，
告诉我说他再也跑不上20mph，于是我和他轮流在19+的速度上pull。然而前面的仍然保
持22+的速度，我们被拉下。老头越来越慢。轮到我pull时，我把速度降到18mph他
也跟不上，因为前面一直是他pull，我实在不好意思drop他自己开溜，于是两人在17+
上缓缓而行。后面又不断有人超过我们，最后我们终于垫底。
快到终点时，老头报上名号，原来是大名鼎鼎的DH，他不但是这个riding group的
leader，还是星期六一个62miles ride的leader。他还对我自我解嘲说：You see
those (fast) jerks have no respect to their leader. 我以为他突然不适，可是到
终点后看他走动聊天毫无异状。不知道为何他的状态会这么差。 |

felt like two water jars, and best of all you are constantly forced to
swallow the water with asphalt smell, tell me again that you still feel it's
romantic :D

it takes only one jerk to get the group psyched and blow off the rest of
the pack. |

少很多象我这样的新手是看了网页，自信能够handle那样的pace才加入的。根据我的观
察，似乎这个group的leader有些管不住那两三个“fast” guys

, so he can control the group. this sounds more like a social ride than a
training ride. in any case, it's just bad form to drop your riding buddies.
guess what, people will remember those guys, and nobody will want to ride
with them later.

pace" - this is what worries me a little bit. This group regularly has about
30 riders. Today due to the rain only 11 riders went through the whole
distance. If the leader is(apparently) the slowest among these 11, it is
safe to say he's just average in the whole group, which means it's
challenging for him to control.
What stunned me was that this group and another one he also leads, are the
median to advance groups the LBS

但如果细雨，不打伞，一人一辆车慢慢骑的话，我觉得感觉还不错。
