I just bought the big screen. panasonic PT-53wx42, $1710+tax
other gears are old, sony DB830 receiver, bought 3 years ago
at $400, toshiba 3100 DVD player, bought God remembers how long
ago from the always-lives-in-our-heart valueamerica...
and Sony SA-WM40 subwoofer, $150.

show off? Take advantage of widescreen TV and use an anamorphic DVD! :)

ahh? it is wide screen... 1.85 and I think it's the only version.

It's the only version but it's not anamorphic widescreen. What display mode do
you use on the TV? "blow up" or full scretch (horizontal scretch only)? must
be blow-up ba?

you are right. I actually didn't watch the movie when
I took the picture.... it's presented in 4:3, with
black bars on top and bottom... same as pulp fiction,
oh man, this SUCKS! I want to throw out those 2 DVDs
out now!!! :) anyway, tomorrow morning off to worstbuy
and get the new pulp fiction which should be in 16:9
presentation ratio...
the worst thing is those DVDs only say it's widescreen,
but don't mention whether it's anamorphic or not.

发帖数: 878 | 14 Something about Mary 就不要扔了，不会再出新版本了。Pulp Fiction早该仍了。事实
上我就没买，苦等了两年，终成正果，haha。
不过就算是anamorphic的也不是一定就强。最近网上关于新版Reservoir Dogs的review滚
滚而来，据说是个shitty transfer，还不如以前non-anamorphic的老版本。可惜我早就
把老版本卖了:(
当然现在出自那些major studio的一般质量还是有保障的。
