competitive or in any lessons. It has been 1 month and a half now. =(
Somehow, I didn't miss dancing as I did last year when I had to quit for a
week due to partner and teacher both on vacation. I almost "died" in that one
week period, yet, no dancing for 1.5 months now doesn't seem that bad......
I wonder what's wrong with me......my foot is still injuried, but I still
decided to take a lesson in American Smooth last n | w***5

tat only those who can't dance standard does smooth, and same goes with latin
and rhythm......

i feel latin/standard is a heart commitment for dancing. yes, after being in
latin/standard for 2 years, i think myself has a soul related to "dance", i
have "the right" to seriously comment on dance, not only its fun, also its
trend, its inherent featurs, its impact, etc etc, all this come naturally from
the strict techniques/strict spirit and feelings of art, etc etc, if someone
says "dance is just one way guys try to meet girls and maybe more, like
touching them", i would

plenty of time, as well as a great potential!
btw, we will go to Tate's studio this Saturday and stay there for the dance
party. Sorry for informing you so late, but i guess you probably won't be
able to make it. take a good rest, and take care!

building this spirit
you extreme goal of dance doesnot have to be competitions. :)
I feel great if i go to competitions, i also feel great i don't and just
listen to dance music and do some turns everyday and even further enjoying
some natural feelings or sth like that. as long as i know all these good
things come from dance :)

The rest part, about heart commitment thing, is probably right.
Cause it brings you such sweet sorrow and pain, which is lovelike feeling.
But still, it is difficult to differentiate like and love. Different people
interpret them differently. And sometimes people are not clear on their
interpretations themselves.

freedom in movement - you don't have all the classical techniques to abide by.

said there is more freedom - there's combination of two sets of technique. I
realize that i enjoy smooth unconsciously because i like to combine different
styles, especially when spontaneously inspired by some music with possibly
mixed styles.

发帖数: 629 | 15 Yes, it is. I never had a problem dancing open reverse turns or open natural
turns in waltz. Not that mine is anywhere near being perfect, but there just
isn't anything major problem or discomfort. But now that I have to dance them
in a side by side shadow position, it just feels awkwardly weird......
And, it becomes SO obvious when I am not swinging/swaying my hip properly, caz
we are in shadow position......plus, I have to keep my balance 100% all the
time, otherwise, I will be screwed due to | c*******l

introduce some exercises.
