Subject: PLEASE READ : IMPORTANT Update on Lobby day - Sept 18th to 20th and
Bill
Team- The details on the bill is closely guarded due to the concerns that
organizations who might against the effort might try to stop it in the last
minute. I will share the details as we get closer.
Please let me know if you are willing to help. This is your bill and you
need to do this for yourself and your family and the legal immigrant
community is counting you this time.
Here is the official IV email regarding the Lobby Day event. Please join us
for this final effort!!
Today, we call upon you to join us for the most important and consequential
event of our effort– and quite possibly the last lobby day in Washington DC
for next 2 years. I know that we have just had one this year in first week
of April and we wouldn’t normally have lobby days twice in one year.
However, there is a reason why I am asking you to join us in DC on September
19th and 20th as this will possible align with an extraordinary events as
sum total of all our efforts. This will also mark 4 year Anniversary of our
rally on Sept 18th, 2007
For the first time, we are inches away from a real congressional
accomplishment, which we all know is tough to come by. Congress will be back
in session in the second week of September. This time, we have a very good
chance of being in the front row seats to watch history being made. There
has not been one line of legislation that Congress has passed since the
winter of 2000 when Bill Clinton signed AC21 bill into law. And it hasn’t
been for the lack of trying. There have been behemoths on both sides of
skilled immigration – both pro and anti-immigration.
However, in the environment that have had a lot of experienced organized
forces in both pro-immigration and anti-immigration front; Immigration Voice
is the one organization that is highly likely to land success in the form
of passed legislation with the help of members who are neither voters nor
donors to the US Congress. And this would be a miracle in present day
Washington.
Now, don’t get me wrong when I say this is a miracle. If we look at the
amount of effort, sacrifice and patience that this organization has taken up
, it shouldn’t be chalked up as a miracle. We’ve had lobby days in 2006,
2007, 2010 and 2011. We’ve had rallies in San Jose and DC in 2007. Our
lawmaker meetings have grown in magnitude and effectiveness with evolving
advocacy . So in a normal world, it’s not a miracle that we are within
inches of success. However, given the fact that Congress has not passed one
single line of high skilled immigration legislation in last 11 years, we
would have some bragging rights to call it a miracle if our bill passes in
September.
This has been like a 10,000 miles race between 2005 and present day. By the
time we meet each other in Washington, it is possible that we may have
either seen legislation pass, or we may be very close. It is also possible
that we could be struggling to get more support for our bill and that makes
our lobby days even more relevant. Whatever it is, if we do win this, we all
deserve to own the part of the history in the making, this positive change
that we have all worked together . I know that you are tired and exhausted.
I know that you are frustrated with Congressional inertia. So am I. So is
everyone else. However, now is the time to take a deep breath, gather your
strength for one last time and be ready to take it to the finish line; not
for glory or medal, but for the honor and fairness we seek.
And for all those times when you worked to bring the change that is bigger
than your pending application, for all those times when you sincerely gave
your time for brining the solution to retrogression, this event could very
well be the defining moment, possibly the sum total of all our efforts. This
is not a time to rejoice or celebrate, but the time to march and finish
what we started.
So join us on September 18th, 19th and 20th in Washington, DC for Lobby days
. The detailed program will be announced in next few days but all members
are requested to arrive on the evening of 17th to attend training starting
at 9am on Sunday, 18th Sept.
Also, if you live or work in following states or if you could get friends
from these states: Kentucky, Alabama, South Carolina, Louisiana or Utah,
please let us know. We really need you this time. | a******e 发帖数: 36306 | 2 这是老印的组织?

bill? | s****t 发帖数: 427 | 13 Majorly for EB3I. EB3C will have more quotes too.
I guess there is no harm for EB2C, after all we will have more delegated
quotes for ourselves. The SO will be reduced so EB2I will get a little bit less.
