大家可以去http://app.fwd.us/legislators 找你zip code的议员，还可以看他们是否支持合法移民，然后可以google他们的主页；不支持的就不用浪费时间了。在他们的主页上可以email给他们，我一般email后加一封平信。英语很烂写的不好，大家见谅。我也给周围几个district的都写了。每人写5封就是五千封信了。
Dear XXXXX,
First of all, I want to thank you for your support on the Comprehensive
Immigration Reform Bill. The Bill has experienced a strong resistance in
the past so President Obama laid out the executive action in last November
to fix our broken immigration system. The executive action will not only
defer the deportation for millions undocumented persons but also direct DOS
and USCIS to modernize and improve legal immigrant visa programs.
My family and I are currently in middle of legal immigrant visa process so
the detail of the executive action is very important to us.
My wife and I came to US from China in XXXX and she works at XXX and I work
at XXX as a XXXX (加入自己的故事生了几个美国公民自己还在等绿卡换不了工作等等
). Our form I-140 was approved in July 2014 with a priority date in August
2013. For applicants from most other countries, this is the end of the
process as they receive Green Card within 3 – 6 months after I-140 is
approved. Due to the backlog for Chinese citizen, we have to wait an average
of 5 years before a visa is available. For next few years, we cannot change
employer, accept promotion, or relocate; otherwise we have to start it over
again.
USCIS issued a press release shortly after Obama’s television speech in
November saying they will work with DOS to provide clarity on adjustment
portability to remove unnecessary restrictions on natural career progression
and general job mobility to provide relief to workers facing lengthy
adjustment delays. Unfortunately, the detail and implementation timeline
are still not released.
I believe it should be easier for companies in the United States to attract
the world’s brightest who wish to immigrate legally, work in specialized
fields of work, and contribute fully to the economy. Employers should be
able to promote and relocate a employee like me.
Representative, I urge you to inquiry Administration to release such detail
in a timely manner to fix the immigration process for high skilled workers
who wish to come and better our economy.
