发帖数: 256 | 1 我现在是某ivy的第四年博士生，论文写了个proposal，applied econ方向。但是
打算1月份到AEA现场看看。主要是两方面：1.是想了解一下找工作的程序。2.如果能够
有一些面试，希望可以从interviewee的方面得到一些消息，在下面的一年中好好准备
自己。
所以，想请教版上前辈——
1. 像我这样的情况，没有confernece paper要present, 也不是目标明确地要找工作，
花时间和费用去AEA有意义么？
2. 另外，我现在也算是ABD了吧，能够开始找工作了么？现在再联系JOE上的工作完么
？那些工作，是投了简历就有面试么？
3. 我的目标是明年找一个好的matching的教职。那么，我能够今年投最好的最
competitive的工作，就是为了练习一圈面试？这样是否合理呢？

people. U should take it very very seriously. |

I just booked non-refundable flights to Atlanta. Also I have booked the
hotel there already.
So, the current question is:
How would I get the most out of this trip while I am looking a serious job
hunter?

potential employers. Wait until you have at least a polished job market
paper. I believe students in Ivy schools will have plenty of coaching before
getting on the market. Anyway, you should talk with your advisors and
fellow students. For this year, just go for the presentations related to
your dissertation and get a feel of the conference.

I was confused because of mixed evidences. Some of my alum suggested that "
to try out job market" was very helpful in her second-year application and
interviews.
Anyways, I should check out the program details now and make a good plan of
attending conf sessions.
