education . To apply for teaching certificate, one must provide proofs of
basic skill by taking some tests. There are two ways of submitting the score
reading, writing, and Math OR a composite score that is at or above the
state qualifying score on Praxis I, SAT, GRE OR ACT."
My questions are as follows:
1). What's the meaning of COMPOSIT SCORE? For instance, the composite score
for GRE is the combination of verbal and math score, and the composite score
of PRAXIS is the combination of reading, writing and Math? Is this
understanding correct?
2). I'm planning to take GRE recently to apply for graduate school some time
next year if possible. Can I take GRE now to apply for the teacher's
certificate instead of taking PRAXIS I? After all, GRE has two functions,
either for the certificate, or for the graduate school application, like
killing two birds with one stone. Is it feasible?
3). If I must taek PRXIS I, where can I register for the test? ETS or
somewhere else?

每个州和每个州的要求不同
我在纽约市 你要是考纽约州的certification 你要去搜索一下 NYSTCE 这里有详细的
certification的考试的 要求 具体内容还是要先看 州立面 department of Educatio

options for candidates: 1) The GRE general test math and verbal composite
score of 1000 2),The SAT reasoing test taken prior to April 1995: math and
verbal score of 1000......
所以我觉得如果理解无误, 应该GRE成绩是可以代替的, 当然仅仅代替PRAXIS I. | L******k

GRE or PRAXIS I is only a entrancing exam for you to get into a university/
college.
But I think you still need to go through at least a certificate program if
you want to teach in public school system or a degree program.
