Vying for a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering? Pursuing a Ph.D. degree is one of
the most challenging, rewarding, and affirming experiences.
I am a professor of civil engineering at the Montana State University at
Bozeman. I am passionate about mentoring motivated graduate students. My
research focuses on transportation planning, spatial-temporal modeling, and
travel behavior studies. I hold a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the
University of Texas at Austin. For more information, please visit my website
Specifically, I am looking for candidates with some exposure in at least one
of the following areas: spatial analysis/modeling, coding statistical
programs (in R or MATLAB), and GIS-software applications (and GUI
development). In my research team, it takes 2 years to earn a Master’s
degree, while the duration of a Ph.D. candidate who has already had a Master
’s degree is expected to be between 3 to 3.5 years. Students are expected
to publish papers with my guidance upon the second semester since their
arrivals.
