1. constructivist is "结构主义者", it is about a special art movement
during the beginning of this centuary. See Art board, there are
many posts about construvtivism. :)
2. semantics is a branch of social science to study the meaning of
launguage and its logic. "语意学" ? It has many applications,
the most famous one to me is some natural language processing
computers that can almost understand the whole human language.
(Boston Science Museum has one :)

发帖数: 10 | 2 normally,we will call it syntax in linguistics.It is about the structure of
language.Chomsky is the VIP in this area.He proposed generative grammar in
1957 and the basic idea was that human being generates language ,say sentences
by constructing certain structures.The way we construct language,more
specificly,Noun Phrases,Verb Phrases and Adverbs etc. People who work on
syntax are called syntactician.
Compared with syntax,semantics is more interesting in that it involves the
meaning of sentences |
