说到这里,我想起一点体会。 这里我补充一下双重否定在美语的用法
发觉没有,美国人很喜欢用双重否定语式, 尤其是律师和政治家, 呵呵,说到这里,
大尾巴狼应该比我更有体会
比如说:老美经常说:I am not disagree with you.
这种双重否定, 听上去很受用, 也能reserve 说者的一些想法。
比如上例, 我不是不同意你。 那究竟同意吗? 也不一定就同意你, 我只是不是不同意
你。
这种用法, 政治家,尤其是克林顿总统用的可为登峰造极。
我举一个对我讲话影响很大的例子:
有一年的国情咨文里, 克林顿说: America should not disentangled with the
conflict in mideast.(原文好像不是很一致,但是,意思就是这么意思了)
翻译一下呢:就是, 呵呵,好像只可意会,不可言传。 反正大家体会吧,反正, 克林
顿表达了不能坐视不管中东,也没说是一定要entangled with the conflict.
说实话,作为律师出身的克林顿讲话非常有水平,很讲艺术。 这也就是为什么, 任何正
