The glottal stop refers to the closing of the glottis (thus stopping the air
),
and then opening the glottis again to let air through and producing sound.
When I said that I use a glottal stop to pronounce the word pairs you gave,
I mean that I don't link the "k" sound at the end of the first word to the
"eh" sound at the beginning of the second word. I actually stop the air
flow very briefly between the words.
Compare the pronounciations of following words on each line:
