The glottal stop refers to the closing of the glottis (thus stopping the air
),
and then opening the glottis again to let air through and producing sound.
When I said that I use a glottal stop to pronounce the word pairs you gave,
I mean that I don't link the "k" sound at the end of the first word to the
"eh" sound at the beginning of the second word. I actually stop the air
flow very briefly between the words.

强调的时候元音很接近，但是如果需要，也可以选择爆破来提升contrast
另外glottal stop在fast speech里基本也就是一个短暂的停顿而已 |

语国家即使有送气清音也不容易对付汉语的广泛独立的不送气问题，想来当年他们也是
挠了好久的头，毕竟英语中只有在s后面和词中间才有这个音。好在当时国语中已经没
有古汉语中那么严格的入声体系了，否则还得发明一套阻塞不发音符号。因为西人的
glottal stop没那么复杂也不标。

粤语，从南到北保留入声的地方很多。 |

并不是南京当时街面上的土话
顺便说一句，你刚才讲的英语里也有顎化。我发现英语里的k, t有很多时候也不发音，
或者像mountain里读成glottal stop和汉语入声字最后消失的趋势很像。
为啥完全不同的语言，在过去几百年里发生的变化有很多相似之处？是何原理？ |
