worst. So, the phone interview was not good, and she thought she needn't
consider this position any more.
But they contacted LD's referees for reference letters this afternoon. Is
this a good sign and means they do not deny my LD's candidacy completely, or
they will ask for references for every candidate they interviewed any way? |

all for her excellent publication record? They will give your LD another
chance for on-site interview if no other better candidates.
Bottom of line is dont guess. Wait and see. The news will come soon.

considered in making the shortlist for on-site interviews.
as for the reply to the thank-you note, it's standard language before any
decision has been made.

teach a real class. They asked her to go before the end of this month. This
looks too rush, since LD needs to give a lecture in a real class. Should
she request to visit at a later time, say early March? |

Her spoken English is pretty bad (I guess that's why they ask her to teach
an ongoing class, to see if she can teach effectively). She feel the need to
prepare for longer time...

research is a perfect fit for the position.
