for the backswing, it is suppused to turn the hip around the spine, no
lateral movie. if the should is turned at 90 degree, the hip is supposed to
be 45 degree, and the knee is about 15 degree 。 (the theory was told by my
1st play partnerwhen I just touched the game.)
for the downswing, it's the timing thing in terms of how much you could
initate ur hip turn, but th buck of your belt is supposed to face the target

how much more you turned your waist. I asked my coach today and we agreed
this is caused by my body shift during the back swing. When I take away the
club, I tend to shift my butt to right a little. It is a bad habit that is
not easy to correct. : ((((

it happens on me also. it's the thing I am working on now. also when the
ball is in bad lie, it is more possible for me to make a rush backswing,
also make the lateral shift.
what i did is the setup position. I make my knees in a locked position which
means the two knees faces a point. It helps, but controling the temp of
the backswing is the key.
