Very frustrated with iron shots. Missed green on several approach shots as
close as 99 yards. What should I work on?

32 Putts is very decent.
6 par is also way better than your handi.
I guess, you need check those double and triple bogeys.
missing 99 yards approaching is very common for weekend golfer. as long as
you can recover from the missing approaching by 1 (make par) or 2 shots (
bogey).
think of it that way, if the only problem you have is missin the iron shots,
and worse case for missing approaching is bogey, you would still have a
decent low round.

You can probably figure out that I did not usually escape with a bogey when
I missed green.:-( More often than I like, double.....

发帖数: 307 | 4 In fact 32 putts with only 5 GIR is not good. This means you can not get up and down when everytime you miss the green. Try to improve your short game (chipping in particular) while you continue to work on you approaching. Also learn some course management to improve your chance of up and down. Aiming at the middle (or bigger part) of the green instead of the flag, When there is danger around the green try to plan to miss on the safe side. (For example, if there is sand trap guarding the front then try to hit the back of the green, if there is water on the back and right side then try to land at front and left, etc). | v***s
发帖数: 4031 | 5 Scoring 89 is not bad at all. One birdie and 6 pars mean you have potential,
and you have the ability to make more birdies and pars in your game. If I
were you, I would go over the double bogeys or worse, and figure out the way
to minimize double bogeys and to eliminate the worse in the future.

it goes.
