your support materials and forwards them to the region office.
But to your question, I don't think the location of your lawyer matters.
If I were you, I would find a lawyer in your state as he/she would be
more familar with the labor market in your state so he/she might present
your case better.
I agree that the previous post that the lawyer is very important in LC
