发帖数: 103 | 4 是的，目前投了十一份，一个在日本的华人副教授同意写推荐信，再就是以色列这个回
信拒绝的。其他的9封就杳无音信了。

像很多非美洲的教授并不清楚绿卡的独立推荐信是啥。后来我就给他回信解释了一下，
然后他就愿意帮忙了
他的最初回信：
Unfortunately I can only endorse people I know personally, so I'm afraid I
have to decline your request.
Nevertheless, I hope you find other people who can help you with this matter.
我的回信：
I understand you concern that you do not know me personally. I am sorry I
didn't explain clearly in my previous email. I have asked some experts who
know me in person to endorse me. But in addition to the these people,
another requirement of the application is reference from independent
scientist who do not know me personally and can objectively judge my work
mainly from my publications.
One typical way for applicant to find independent referrer is from the
authors who cited his publications. Since the paper you published XXX cited
my work XXX, I think we have some common research interests and you are a
perfect and qualified scientist to judge my work.
I respectfully ask you to reconsider my request. It may take you some
minutes, but will be a great help to my career.
