any hard-earned money. i would rather happily collect 1% interest in money
market than try to grow my money by 10% with considerable risk of losing the
principal. borrowing money from 401K for down payment is just beyond me.

equities options to maximize the growth, but seems like the price per share
is increasing, the stock and bonds market are not good? I am losing
principal.
Loan from 401k is the way for poor. :) |

your employer pay you significantly higher than industrial average, or its
401k contribution matching is significantly higher than normal.
