I used to be H1B but got laid off Dec 2008. Now I am transferring back
from F1 to H1B. But my lawyer said
since I filed the H1B application so I don't need to register for next
semester to keep F1 status. So I didn't
register for this semester and filed the H1B application. But now I think
he is wrong and I am getting worried
about my status.
Can anyone correct me? I hope he is right and I am wrong!

even for opt,
you have to register at $100 and keep the status.
talk to the international office of the school.
