有木有大牛对这个比较了解的，就是给trader打下手，做点表格，收集资料，搞个
research的。
在buy side - alternative investment的offer。
干两年出来能干什么呢？
我也不是有野心的，只要工作按时上下班不出差就行了。 | d*********g

communication, you could move to business, either to middle office or front
office. But this is not easy, but possible.
The disadvantage is, the job could be boring. For the working hour, it
depends on the markets your job covers. If the traders care about Asia/EU
markets, it's going to be hard to get off work on time.

疑问就是，trade support/ops本来就是middle office吧。为什么工作无聊呢？这个
job offer说明产品是CDO/MBS/IRS之类的，所以大部分时间都在review investor
reports，计算interest/shortfall/WAS/WARF神马的。
我个人觉得内容还可以了，不知道是不是我漏掉了什么？
如果不做这个，不想去front office，也不会编程的大妈（光有一个金融master）还能
在金融公司干什么呢？

operations的话，完全不编程，虽是中台但pay没IT高，市场绝定的。
当然IB里的tech又是IT里pay的最低的。因此你要做好comp很disappointing的准备。

There are mainly three areas in traditional buy side (not quant or hft shop)
Investment research is the most prestige (and best paid) area, includes PM,
Investment Analyst and Quantitative Analyst. All those people are making
decision or pitching ideas of investment strategies. Basically they are the
people who make money.
After investment managers decide a strategy, let's say long AAPL 100M and
hedged using SPX, execution team will try to find the best way to execute
the trades (when, what, how, with whom). There are traders who execute the
trades, and trading support who enter trade, verify trade, amend trade and
prepare trading/risk report. Generally, trading is not a prestige job in buy
side, compared with sell-side.
So as a trading support, you are not doing any strategy related research. It
is usually considered as a boring job since you need to a lot manual/
verification work. You may do some risk job if ur company doesn't have risk
team.
It is definitely not a tough job, but also not a 9-5 one. I think the hour
expectation should be 8-6 or 7-6.
The career path is usually lead to senior operation staff in large fund or
bank. I think similar bank may have a better career since the people you
serve have more power (trader makes profit in bank)
If your company is small, it is possible that trader is one of the
investment team member, then you have a much better career path. | d*****y
