“北京大学合成与功能生物分子中心”的成立，是北京大学近来相继推出的一系列促进
学科交叉融合的举措之一。 该中心被北大列为“985”三期工程中重点建设的一个跨学
科实体研究中心，对北大化学和生命科学等学科的建设具有重要的意义。 中心将以建
设世界一流的生命科学与化学前沿交叉研究机构为目标，充分利用北京大学多学科的综
合优势，通过化学与生物学的交叉融合，为生命科学的探索提供新的视角，为解决人类
重大疾病提供坚实的科学基础。中心计划在不久的将来迅速形成一支布局合理、充满朝
气的国际一流学术团队，在从分子到细胞的多层次上开展学术研究，力图在蛋白质、核
酸、糖和脂类等重要生物分子的研究方面取得突破，为我国基础科学与高新技术的发展
做出自己的贡献。
The Synthetic and Functional Biomolecules Center (SFBC) at Peking University
(PKU) are seeking for applications for 2-3 faculty positions at all ranks
at the interface of chemistry and biology, broadly defined. Candidate with
research interests in Epigenetics, Synthetic Biology, Neurosciences, Protein
Engineering, and broad areas of Chemical Biology are especially encouraged
to apply. We seek candidates with Ph. D. and/or M.D. degrees who have
demonstrated excellence, originality and productivity in research.
SFBC is a newly established center at PKU that is dedicated to research and
education at the interface between chemistry and biology. Faculties in SFBC
typically hold joint appointments in the College of Chemistry or School of
Life Sciences. Candidates may also apply for Principal Investigator
position of Center for Life Sciences (see: http://www.cls.edu.cn)
We offer an internationally competitive start-up package. Peking University
provides excellent interdisciplinary research environment and outstanding
core research facilities. Review of applications will begin on November
15th, 2011 and will continue until the positions are filled.
