termination, they moved out. Landlord returned the security deposit check
with only one tenant name on it to one of them. Generally,landlord should
write a check with both of tenants names on it, so this check can't be
deposited or cashed without either signature from them. This guy who got the
check kept the whole deposit, refused to give half portion of deposit to
the other. If file a lawsuit, who should be defendant? | g******f

发帖数: 5184 | 3 come on, if it's a check, ask your landlord for bank records that indicate
the check was cashed by your roommate.
Also, you need to go after your landlord,since by contract (lease), he/she
is supposed to return you the deposit. Your landlord can then go after your
roommate if he/she wishes.
