发帖数: 43 | 3 I went to a T2 school. You will not get a biglaw job unless (1) you are top 10% in the 1st year, or (2) you have a science/engineering background.
I would not recommend you going to such a school unless (1) money is not a
problem, and (2) you just want to get a JD degree. Otherwise go to T14. |

发帖数: 5 | 4 I spent my first year at a 40+ law school and then transferred to another 40
+ law school. Interned at three 40+ law firms during the summers and got an
offer at a top 5 Texas law firm. One year later, I was recruited to a top 10
US law firm as an expat at its Hong Kong office.
I think it is still a workable route, all depending on what grades you will
have in your law school. I was ranked no. 1 in the first law school and no.
3 in the second. I think that helps paving my way. And luckily I grad |

学，最后成绩也不过中游。现在正琢磨考NY bar回国进个内所算了，至少做个法律翻译

If you ultimately will come back and practice in the China market, NY bar is
preferable because most US courts will defer to NY's precedents regarding
securities law. You probably do not need the DE license although you must
get yourself familiar with the DE corporate/partnership laws.
If you know where in the states you are going to practice, please choose a
reputable law school in that region, because those school may provide decent
graduate placement. For instance, in |

better school, but for getting closer to my fiance who had a job 3,000+
miles away on the west coast. Also, after graduation, I had to move down to
Texas again to follow her who upgraded to my wife then:) |

Even second tier law schools, like U. Houston, have tons of graduates
working in top Texas firms like
