m*****9 发帖数: 152 | 1 This morning my husband told me, his mom told him on the phone that a friend
of hers said I filed a divorce which got published on the local paper. I
was very upset because I have no clue what she was talking about. So I
texted her, and she said "A friend saw their last name on the paper in the
divorce announcement section, so the friend was asking about her son's name.
" And she said she called the paper and find out it was not true. She also
said, "Life is short, just be happy and appreciate." My God, after my
morning been disturbed like this, how can I be happy? And appreciate what? I
don't know who is playing this dirty trick and why they want to do so. I
search the last name in the paper's website, and found nothing in there. I
know someone is lying. I just want to seek some advices from law
professionals. I don't think I can sue her, but how can I get this to a
public attention to stop this evil activity. I thought about writing to the
editor of the paper. I noticed my mother-in-law's story is quite different
from what my husband said. | c**d 发帖数: 3888 | 2 Calm down, get yourself under control, and re-write your question | D******D 发帖数: 1022 | 3 if you can't articulate in English, write in Chinese. I have no clue what

【在 D******D 的大作中提到】 : if you can't articulate in English, write in Chinese. I have no clue what : you are asking.
| m*****9 发帖数: 152 | 5 I don't want any money. I'm just very upset and want her to stop this. This
is not the first time she's done this kind of things. I'm just hoping to get
her to make a public apology.
I know it's confusing, even after I forward my mother-in-law's (American)
message to a co-worker (American) of mine, she didn't understand what was
going on.
Keep it simple. My husband's family are Americans. My husband was
asking me whether I filed a divorce on him or not because his mom told him
this on the phone.
HIs statement was: "She said you filed a divorce on me which got on the
paper." I was very mad, and texted my mother-in-law.
She texted me back, said, YESTERDAY (7/4 WEDNESDAY), her friend saw her last
name (she uses the same last name as my husband does as most Americans do)
on the paper in the divorce section, and the friend was asking about her son
's first name. Then, she said, she called clark's office on MONDAY, and
found out it's not true. Then, she said, "Too much drama, life is short, and
marriage is rough, just try to be happy."
I know she was lying because she even couldn't keep the timeline straight.
I feel so bad I married an American now. There are problems in our marriage,
this is just like another gunshot in the wound, But, we've got two
beautiful kids together, I want them to have a intact family. My mother-in-
law used to work as a clark in a law office, she thinks she knows law or at
least people in this field. And, she thinks I won't stand up for myself
because English is not my mother-tongue and I don't have any family here. I'
m so tired of her messing around like this. Last time, I had an arguement
with my husband, and he called his mom up, and the first thing she asked was
, "Does she still care about her green card?" I work in psychiatric, and I
don't take threats very well. | a********l 发帖数: 73 | 6 Sue for libel? If it's published/written and it's defamatory you might sue
for libel. But you need to prove you suffered damages. |
