the linux/fedora side by side with Windows XP to make dual OS system on my
Dell Dimension 4700. Recently, the windows system got really corrupted due
to virus infection, so I formated the hard drive with another computer, but
now I can't re-install windows XP. The computer simply won't boot up with CD
/DVD drive now matter whatever I do. It sometime looks able to load files
into memory, however installation never starts. I | h***r

if computer won't boot into xinxp installation cd, either cd is gone, or
bios setting error, or cd drive is gone

发帖数: 1114 | 4 no, 4700有两个sata口，lz的肯定是用的sata硬盘。xp默认不带sata驱动，而且4700 b
ios好像还不能设置ide兼容模式。
lz有以下几个option:
1. 软驱安装过程中加载sata驱动
2. 用nlite做带sata的win xp 驱动盘。
3. 换装vista或者win7, 这两个都自带sata驱动 (vista我很确定，win7不确定，不过即
使win7不带的话也能从usb盘里面加载sata驱动）。

I tried the Win7, but it stopped at the screen saying "Starting Windows 7"
I will try the Nlite thing
