educational purpose. there're quite a lot of things you need to know before
you open one of these. in short:
1. there're many accounts, managed by different states, you can choose from
all of them.
2. interest income and capital gain of the investments are tax deferred. if
used for educational purposes it's tax exempt. for other purpose you do need
to pay tax on them.
3. you can contribute up to 11k per person per year without be

发帖数: 1397 | 4 One of the advantages of 529 is that you can use the money for your own
education as well. I used to invest with Rhode Island's 529 and their
investment was pretty successful. Later I decided to switch to New York's 529
because NY allow you to deduct 529 contribution from state income tax, which
is quite some burden if you live in NY.
