My current house has popcorn ceiling, having 5% asbestos. I'll have it
removed before selling it.

50年代到80年代（7几年以后尽管是不允许用了，但存货还是在被使用，一直用到85年）
其实买85年之前的房子，石棉的存在是不可避免的，加到texture ceiling里只是建筑
过程中成千种石棉用途中的一个。
这玩意也不是什么大事，但问题就是人们都被吓怕了 - 影响resell.

houses built "in the 1980s" with popcorn ceilings could have asbestos, but
does not say specifically which year in the 1980s.

any contractor should be able to do it with proper protective gears. |

自己就能干，
然后灰抹上去的厚一点，打磨的粉尘里也不会有石棉 |

ceiling. I am in california and the stuff is shipped to Arizona. I have to
sign a bunch of documents.

发帖数: 4434 | 18 你要搞清楚是不是真的是popcorn，popcorn容易弄，还有其他texture就难了。
如果是popcorn，可以拿一小块下来送到指定的地方帮你鉴定有毒没有。如果没有，自
己弄也行，home depot有专门的工具，几下手脚就搞定。
如果不是popcorn就麻烦了，不能刮下来，只能填一层mud然后再打磨平。我们
1000sqftz一般报价2.5k，我找到一个是1.7k的。不过工头有偷工减料的嫌疑，后来收
尾工作也没做，幸亏尾数也没收。 |

of sending their ceiling for analysis ? Chances are, 99% of them are gonna
spray some water on it, put on some gas mask, lay some plastic sheets on the
ground, scrap the crap off and dump it in the trash.

disposal. As you said, They won't do the test and they will remove the
popcorn, but they also know government put big fine if they found dumping
this thing. It is true and it happened to a contract i personally know. So
either I try dispose this myself somehow and may get into trouble, or I get
professionals to do it.
Btw, I did the test myself, it is very easy and cost only $20.
