National Academy of Engineering Elects
65 Members and Nine Foreign Associates
WASHINGTON -- The National Academy of Engineering (NAE) has elected 65 new
members and nine foreign associates, NAE President Charles M. Vest announced
today. This brings the total U.S. membership to 2,227 and the number of
foreign associates to 194.

Robert C. Armstrong, Chevron Professor of Chemical Engineering,
Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge. For conducting
outstanding research on non-Newtonian fluid mechanics, co-authoring landmark
textbooks, and providing leadership in chemical engineering education.
Ray Henry Baughman, Robert A. Welch Professor of Chemistry and director of
the Alan G. MacDiarmid NanoTech Institute, University of Texas at Dallas,

发帖数: 1648 | 4 POLYMER的人很多啊。DA TIRREL当年从UMASS跳到CALTECH据说就是为了拿个院士，终
于如愿了。RC ARMSTRONG在MIT学术好象并不出色，但系主任据说当得风升水起，筹款
无数。BIRD那本书居然也帮了忙啊，赫赫。恭喜老陈啊，中国人不容易。 | w********h

我说阿，ross2000最牛，三个大陆华人工程院士，跟其中两个都很熟。。。
