remove the copper salt. Does anyone know how to remove the copper salt from
the polymer?
Thanks. |

D********g 发帖数: 533 | 4 that might be the problem. iPrOH is too polar that it tend to elute with the
copper-ligand complex out of the column. Try neutral Alumina column,
evaporate the isopropanol, redissolve into THF or dioxane or less polar
solvent. pass the column again.

e*********s 发帖数: 1440 | 7 I have tried this. Unfortunately, it didn't work. The problem is that poly(
2-vinylpyridine) is coordinated with the copper salt. I did the synthesis
based on literature, which says the solution is colorless after passing
through alumina column. Maybe there is a tricky issue that I don't realize.

D********g 发帖数: 533 | 9 hmmm... then the copper may be ligated via pyridyl groups... I also want to
know the tricks... since my polymer also can form ligation with copper and
after twice the column and it is still light green. However, isopropyl
alcohol definitely cannot get any ligands out, at least for my polymer.
Good luck.
