and an instructor for two years before that, will rejoin the Princeton
faculty, effective Sept. 1, 2011. He specializes in number theory and
arithmetic algebraic theory.
Zhang will come to Princeton from Columbia, where he has been a professor
since 1998. He has been a member of the Institute for Advanced Study and was
a Guggenheim Foundation Fellow, a Clay Foundation Prize Fellow and a Sloan
Research Fellow. He received a bachelor's degree from Zhongshan University
in China, a master's degree from the Chinese Academy of Science and a Ph.D.
