If you get 99/99/99, the adverse effect of the first round score will be fixed.
Nonetheless, you need to ask yourself whether it was just a big blunder or medicine is not for you.
The truth is if I got any score lower than 90, I would have quit.

if you are confident to pass for the second time.
Go ahead.
But what you need to do now is to figure out what you did wrong for the
first time. If you can correct these mistakes for the second trial, you are
in good shape.
But if you find it is difficult to quit some bad habits (such as anxiety
during exam) that lead to your previous failure, just give up.

If you really want to practice medicine in the U.S., you shouldn't give up.
Just find your weak points and work through it. There are so many resources
and advices and you should find some good ways to study for yourself.

DrNewbie is a genius, most of us can't follow her. I know several people
with scores between 83 and 87, and they have matched in IM, pathology and
neurology. One guy with scores 89/91 is in Ophthalmology in New York!

fixed.
or medicine is not for you.

don't be so mean to her.
Different people have different opinions about the exam and match.
We should not ask others to have identical thoughts to ours, right?
Actually her unique characteristic shows us a different way of thinking, a
way which is as good as ours, if not better than.
BTW. I think the cases you mentioned are the exceptions. They must have some shining points in their application package, such as strong internal connection, wonderful research or long turn clinical practice back in

Honesty, an attribute of moral character and hope, a belief, are skills? You lost me.

I respect DrNewbie.

some shining points in their application package, such as strong internal
connection, wonderful research or long turn clinical practice back in their
home land. But it is not feasible for most of the average applicants.

Score matters in some way, but definitely not everything! I took USMLE long
time ago, finished residency and fellowship in top ranking hospital. Now
working with residents in teaching hospital. High score just mean u did well
on test. Keep in mind, program are looking for good doctors, not good test
takers. Expecting u knowing nothing, since they will teach you medicine.
My experience from my training:
No.1: Caring and be responsible with good personality and attitude, working
hard and caring.
