想问一下要是program写信说对咱们有意思，咱们可不可以说我要rank你们high呢？还
是不提rank list，而是再说一下我很想去。
还有，是不是应该在2月份的时候，对所有面试过的program都写信说说自己很想去？谢
谢了！对于自己最想去的地方，可不可以说我要rank你第一？这样有没有副作用？谢谢

听说美国学生申请学校里都有专管match的PD，他（她）会帮他们给申请的program打电
话，帮学生说rank list的事情。咱们也没人管。。。我在想，自己是不是应该更主动

For others, express your strong interest and say some good words about the
program, but don't need to mention about your ranking. For some PDs, they
interpret “rank highly” as “not number one choice”. |

programs will rank you.

example, “rank to match” means you're placed in the top 10; “you stand a
very good chance of matching with us” or “based on the experience in the
past few years you have a good chance to match” means you're on spot #11-30
(or more, depending on how far the list went in the past). However this is
not 100% sure, so don't count on those.

community program at a less desirable location might rank a large number,
say 60.

their program but you don't, that may leave a “dishonest” impression to
them.
If you're not sure, just don't tell the program about your rankings.
