刚才在学校的mailinglist里面收到的，不知道有人在这里贴过没有。
小姑娘得了白血病，只剩下两周时间寻找匹配的骨髓了。
How would you feel if a doctor told you that you only had less than 1 week
to live?
Sad, lonely, hopeless? Unfortunately, this IS the case for Janet Liang.
Janet Liang, is on a desperate search to find her bone marrow match. In
2009, Janet was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia and although she
was in remission at the time, her cancer spread and she recently relapsed
this past December. Now more than anything, she relies on a bone marrow
match over the next four weeks to save her life and we need your help!
This is Janet Liang and she says, "I'm afraid of dying. Because of what I'
ll leaving behind."

Some background:
Matches are most often found from others with similar ethnic backgrounds and
in the U.S., only 7.2% of Asian Americans are registered in the National
Registry. These low enrollment numbers mean ethnic minorities have a
smaller chance of finding a match.

What you can do:
Register to become a donor! It's simple and only takes 10 minutes. All it
requires is a form to fill out and cotton swabs to swab the inside of your
cheeks. Sign up here to receive a free kit sent to your door.

发帖数: 1069 | 12 I just registered online, and was told that it normally takes 2 weeks for me
to receive the kit. I can go to a local Donor Drive, but not sure how long
it might take to process my specimen. I guess it would be better if I let
the local donor drive know that I want to match my marrow with the girl in
SF who need it urgently. Any suggestions from people with experience with
the donor drive?
