An assistant professor at the University of Houston Clear Lake campus was
arrested and charged with making threats on campus.
Lei Wu has been an assistant professor of software engineering since 2008.
According to court documents obtained by Local 2, Wu told another professor
he wants to make tenure and said there would "be blood."
"It is something that happened on the U of H campus and something my office
is taking very seriously," said William Mejia, the Harris County District
Attorney.
Investigators said Sharon White, who works with Wu, was on the receiving end
of the threat and that she feared for her life and for the safety of her co
-workers.
Investigators said the threats were made not only against White, abut also
members of the tenure board.
When White asked Wu to clarify what he meant, court documents show he said,
"it will be bad for either" decision and "both will be blood."
The two professors have reportedly had problems in the past, so
investigators said White brought along a recorder when Wu asked to speak
with her.
The conversation is now in the hands of the assistant district attorney, who
is handling the case.
"Our full focus is ensuring her safety and making sure all evidence is
preserved," Mejia said. |

Dr. White is the worst professor I've ever had. She doesn't teach; her notes
come straight from the text. She takes weeks to respond to calls/emails (if
she responds at all). As the program advisor, she should communicate with
students, not ignore them completely. Her SWEN program isn't worth the $ or
frustration. |

tenure committee meeting时候流血，然后华人教授被激怒了，说要让她也流血。
反正也没有证据说明这个白人女教授没有说过让他流血的话。 |

As an international student i never saw or heard her make a comment about
international students. She is not very helpful but she is not against
foreign students either. The other poster is lying.

Useless. Class deceptively listed as face to face, but is online only.
Required for CS degree, only taught by one professor, only offered via web.
Tests cover only randomly selected obscure items; memorization works but
critical thinking is out. I've gone to 5 different colleges and this is the
worst class I've ever taken, bar none.

Useless teacher. Expects tests to be taken at a certain time, during
business hours, even if you have a job. Ignores student needs and has
completely horrible tests on random topics. You won't learn anything from
her, only from the book reading. Waste of money.

Tests were horrible. Do not even try to predict test questions that might be
on the tests! She has weird taste for test questions. You have to study the
online study material and book. If you study hard, real hard, page by page,
there would not be any problem passing her class.

reviews and from reading the book. Briefly answers trivial questions. Tests
require memorization of many random topics. Apathetic toward student
concerns and unapproachable.

to find topics. Do expect 8+ page reports. Always online course even if you
are in the non-online version.

Oh my! She does not have any responsibility for any student. I am sure.. she
is one of the laziest professor in the world. Never teach any thing, just
show up 2 times when I took her course. You absolutely learn nothing from
her. Really bad professor!!!
