Mattis warns of 'consequences' if Beijing continues with 'intimidation and
coercion'
U.S. Secretary of Defense James Mattis spoke Saturday morning at the
Shangri-La Dialogue, an annual security summit in Singapore.
He said China's placement of weapons in the South China Sea "is tied
directly to military use for the purpose of intimidation and coercion."
"I believe there are much larger consequences in the future when nations
lose the rapport of their neighbors," he said. |
