Horace F. Page 可以说是排华法案的开山鼻祖，Page Act of 1875 是他提出的，那个
法案把中国妇女移民先给禁了。7年之后他和 John F. Miller 一起提出的 Chinese
Exclusion Act 把中国男性移民也给禁了。

The Page Act of 1875 (Sect. 141, 18 Stat. 477, 3 March 1875) was the first
restrictive federal immigration law in the United States, which effectively
prohibited the entry of Chinese women, marking the end of open borders.[1]
The 1882 Chinese Exclusion Act would go on to ban immigration from Chinese
of all genders.
The law was named after its sponsor, Representative Horace F. Page, a
Republican who introduced it to "end the danger of cheap Chinese labor and
immoral Chinese women".[2] The law technically barred immigrants considered
"undesirable,"[3] defining this as individual from Asia who was coming to
America to be a forced laborer, any Asian woman who would engage in
prostitution, and all people considered to be convicts in their own country.
The Page Act was supposed to strengthen the ban against "coolie" laborers,
by imposing a fine of up to $2,000 and maximum jail sentence of one year
upon anyone who tried to bring a person from China, Japan, or any Asian
country to the United States "without their free and voluntary consent, for
the purpose of holding them to a term of service".[4]
Only the ban on female Asian immigrants was effectively and heavily enforced
and proved to be a barrier for all Asian women trying to immigrate,
especially Chinese.[5] Moreover, the Page Act created the policing of
immigrants around sexuality which "gradually became extended to every
immigrant who sought to enter America," and today remains a central feature
of immigration restriction.[6]

As soon as the 47th Congress (1881–83) opened its first session, Senator
John F. Miller and Representative Horace F. Page, both California
Republicans, introduced similar bills in both chambers to restrict Chinese
immigrants. Debates began on 28 February 1882, and Senator Miller sparred
with his colleague from New England, Senator Hoar of Massachusetts. Senator
Miller, echoing Blaine and other western members of Congress, stressed the
positive impacts of Chinese exclusion on the American labourer.

了赞成票。由于历史原因，Page Act of 1875 和 Chinese Exclusion Act 不是民主党
议员提交的，法案通过时，签字的总统也不是民主党人。
这个问题上民主党也不干净，不过民主党后来多少还是做了一点救赎：
1943年，美国国会受理议员 Warren G. Magnuson （民主党人）提交的《麦诺森法案》
，又称《排华法案废止议案》。
1943年12月17日，美国总统富兰克林·罗斯福（民主党人）签署《麦诺森法案》，废止
了《排华法案》
2011年10月6日及2012年6月18日，正值美国总统奥巴马（民主党人）任内民主党掌控参
议院及众议院，两院分别通过一项道歉案，两院议员一致就《排华法案》向全体在美华
人致歉。
这个问题上民主党不光彩，应该受到历史的谴责。不过共和党更不光彩，他们该受到的

每个人的立场观点不一定都正确，但是我在这个帖子了贴出的资讯都是很容易找到的，
80%以上在 wiki 就能看到，剩下的随便 google 两下就找到。说实话，我以前只知道
有《排华法案》，不清楚谁提的提案，谁签字成为法律，谁提出提案废除，谁签字废除
，什么时候在什么情况下美国为《排华法案》道歉，都是拜你所赐，看了你贴出的文章
后自己查询了一些相关资讯，最近这几天才搞清楚这些标志性历史事实是怎么回事。
一楼文章的作者既然大言不惭，敢就这个问题写“简史”，对我提到的这些公开资讯是
不可能不知道的。居然昧着良心隐瞒这些标志性历史事实写“简史”，出来带节奏，这
就是诚心吃《排华法案》受害者的人血馒头，不应该啊
