She basically run a Ponzi scheme in Minnesota's Chinese community. She tried to borrow money in the name of short term business funding need and promised higher interest (like 20%)payment. Some other Chinese also involved and benefited from this scheme.
I heard over 20 victims and over 1million dollar was scammed. Some of the victims are pretty well to do but some don’t, like one house cleaning lady loaned them 100K, all her life saving.
She committed suicide in Montana after her car was broken down, she did not have any money to fix it.
In the end, she did not have any money left. So where did the money go?

She was over 50. I knew her personally and talked to her couple of times at
restaurant. I knew some scam victims.
